Hi, all! I have a question. I recently ran a 1/2 marathon (only my 2nd) and felt AWFUL throughout it! By the 2nd mile I thought I'd NEVER make it to the end! Problem: my right leg was landing like a ton of bricks on the street! Specifically, the front of shin, from the heel up through the back of the calves and hamstring, and a bit of the thigh was locked up, if that makes sense. Has anyone experienced this? I tried to "overcorrect" it by consciously adjusting my running posture/form. I COULD not correct the problem. Do you think it may have been tight muscles? This was a week ago. I went on a long run yesterday and had to do strecthes on the side of the road after the first mile in an attempt to alleviate the problem. I worked through it enough to complete 11 miles. I also tried to go heel-ball-toe, accentuating the push off the hind foot. I guess it helped bc I was free of pain, but still discomforted. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks, Abby.
