I guess it's possible but I don't think hyponatremia was the issue. My fluid intake was a moderate amount of sportsdrink (80%) and water (20%). I consumed my GU at about 1:00 hour, 2:15, and 3:30 into the race. I must admit that I didn't finish the last one - I didn't have the taste for it at all. My best guess is that I probably should have worked 4 complete GU intakes into my run. I really didn't feel better after finishing by simply stopping - I only felt better after snarfing somekind of danish that magically appeared in my hand. I've read a good deal about "bonking" due to lack of electrolytes and the confusion that often accompanies that state. What doesn't fit exactly is that I was able to keep running with only a slight adjustment to my original pace. THANKS again for the input! Please let me know if you have other thoughts.
