Anne, one thing that might help you get motivated to train is to run for a purpose, such as the American Cancer Society. In my very first race (5-K)I was so green that I didn't even know where to line up. I was running for my fellow cancer survivors (I am a cancer survivor myself). Turns out, I won my age group in that 1st race. Believe me it is not because of my skill or speed. It was because of them....those who couldn't run who I ran for.... That purpose also helped me train, whether I felt like it or not.
Happy Running!!
