hey. i will be running the philly marathon (my first organized run ever) this weekend. and my nerves are a wreck! i've been training for 6 months and a week and a half ago, i did a 21 mile long run. last week (just as i was begining my taper), i caught a cold. i sacrificed a few 3-4 mile runs for 3 days of taking it easy... i figured the importance of kicking the cold would out-weigh any benefits of a couple of extra runs. problem is, taking 3 days off in a row has really hurt my momentum, and my confidence. with only a few days to go, i have to force myself not to go out and do 10 milers every day to make up for it... almost like cramming for a test the night before. any advice on how to deal with faltering confidence as the race approaches? the clock is ticking... ugh! bib #792 - say 'hi' as you pass me! ;)
