I hope you find an answer, because I have the same problem.
If you are properly hydrated, then my only thought is that your faster pace for the marathon is causing the cramps. I understand that it is possible that the cramps arebecause your race pace is faster than your training pace.
I have had hamstring cramps in both of my marathons at mile 21 despite my training runs of up to 22 miles.
My question is could someone please tell us how to prevent this in future races? More stretching? Some weight work to strengthen the muscles?
