I'm training for the NYCM, my first marathon. Training has been going really well so far.
A week ago I ran my first 20 miler. It was great and I felt like I could have gone the entire 26.2. About 4 days later (after runs of 3, 5 and 6 miles respectively), my legs were so tired I didn't even feel like standing.
I know to expect a certain amount of fatigue but this is a bit extreme and I'm concerned. Does this have to do with diet or do I just need plain old rest. And if so, how much do I rest?
I skipped one of my runs and ran 12 yesterday. My legs are still pretty tired and I have a 22 miler this week.
Any suggestions?
