I can't accurately compare the two races because I have only been to Seattle, which was fun. Except for the begining and end which are on city streets, the course is pretty. The course leaves downtown and goes out on the express lanes of the floating bridge to Mercer Island, then back in and along the shore through a park, back through neighborhoods and smaller parks (the hilly part of the race) back to the starting place. I though water was well-placed and people were friendly. The big down side to Seattle is the weather which is consistently cold and wet over Thanksgiving weekend. That aspect didn't bother me that much because I had been training in colder, wetter weather at home in Alaska, but Seattle is not a great race for setting personal records and if I could afford the airfare I would try Honolulu next time.
