There is a New runner, 1 1/3 year. I started running last year while going through menopause. I thought that will be a good way to challenge myself if life is really going into a deemer direction.
I trained from a 6 to 8 miler/week to run a marathon in 5 1/2 month with a finishing time of 4:26.
I thought about just to run one marathon once in my lifetime. But Got talked into running a second one to BQ.
Before I embarked on the second one. I asked questions around to see if anyone with the experience whether one can improve the pace around menopause. I did not get any response.
From my personal experience, that it is doable, but it is a lot harder than just having a goal to finish.
There has been more lingering aches and pains during training that makes you wonder if it is really doable. For about three or four times I wondered whether I should have aborted the plan.
I have less than 4 weeks to go for my second marathon with a goal to BQ.
It is great feeling that my goal is doable.
