How do you balance?.....

Just curious as to how other women balance their time between running/training and family, work, home? I'm finding it difficult to get in the base I need during the week to run my long runs on the weekend without injury. Between work, afterschool activities, dinner, homework..I'm lucky if I can get in 40mins. and there's always the 8yr old asking "are you going running again? Do you have too?" Yes, I've explained to her that it keeps me healthy and happy and makes me a better person. I'm trying to train for an Oct marathon (it will be my third) and after looking at my first two, It's become apparent that I'm just not getting enough time on the road. I'm not trying to BQ, I'd just like to do a comfortable 10min/mile marathon. So what type of training schedule do some of y'all do that has worked for you? I'd love to know how to accomplish this goal without having my family think they've lost me to the road...
