David,

22kr is correct about Coolmax.

Any Coolmax jersey is fine. You will still want to wear NipGuards or Band-aids under the shirt for very long runs.

LandsEnd has a great short. They show it in their summer catalog as a water short (8479-7R20 or 1447220, for $26). It has lots of pockets, some with Velcro, some with zippers. It has a liner and a real fly. It has small holes in the pockets for water drainage. It makes a great non-chaffing running short due to the numerous pockets, even if it isn't specifically designed for running.

You can get excellent Coolmax socks at Sports Authority. Their own brand of socks are cheap normally, and very cheap when they have their second pair for 50% off, which is most of the time.
