Running "old"

Been running for 33 years & it's still as important in my life as ever. BUT pace & endurance have sufferred greatly beyong 7 miles, and I neeed ideas to rescue my ability to run a long distance event (20 miles)again.(Spring of 2001)

My goal is to survive a 20 mile run without walking. Speed is of little interest; 9+ minute pace would be great.

Any other "chronologically advantaged" runners out there with ideas how to rescue a distance running program?
