recovery time between walking marathons?

Hello, ollie! I always love your responses and appreciate the advice you have to give people.

My question about walking involves the kind of recovery needed between events. They say that 6 months between running marathons should be the minimum, but I can't (due to overtraining issues) do it more often than once a year.

How much recovery time is recommended between walking marathons? If there is less stress on the joints, I would assume that the recovery time could be shorter.
