Yes, pepper spray does cause much temporary pain so it's important to know HOW to use it and WHEN to use it. Some states may require one to be licensed to carry it.

I carry a small handheld keychain pepper spray dispenser that easily clips to my shorts. The trigger has a safety mechanism to prevent accidental discharge.
