Im a long-time runner who does NOT look down on anyone who does marathons. However, people are different and youll find that some runners do and they often feel the same way about run-walkers too. I think there is a difference between running, run-walking and walking marathons, and racing in any mode is also different. But does it matter? Only you can answer that!
There are some marathons, see thread below, that are particularly walker-friendly. Ive done 2 on that list this year and I saw perhaps as many runners as walkers, the rest being run-walkers. The Great Bermuda Walking Marathon allows only walkers.
