I decided this year my goal was to join/qualify for the 50 State Marathon Club. I had alread run 5 states (9 marathons) so I planned out 5 marathons for this year. I ran my 9th state (Grandfather's Mountain) last weekend. My number 10 is Grizzly Marathon (Montana) in August. I'm getting a unique view of our country!
(I'm using Hal Higdon's multiple marathon schedules!)
Anyway, I haven't met any 50&DC people but I've met several 50 Staters. Apparently the 50&DC group began before the 50 Stater group. The 50 Stater group tends to have more commeraderie. I think I might even join both groups to get benefits from both sides!
Good luck if you decide to join. I've already met several people who are running it for the 2nd or 3rd time! :0)
