Missed training shouldn't be a worry

Yes, see a doctor. You focus should be on getting better, not on training. I've gotten sick at the height of training for a marathon, taken a full week off, taken another week to gradually work back into my schedule, and was okay for the marathon. Believe me, a week's rest won't hurt you. It might even have some good side benefits besides helping your body overcome the infection.
