Joan, good job on finishing your first marathon. I have found that pool running is beneficial and a good way of either keeping fit while injured (the Running Times Web Site has a good 9 week aquarunning program) or to add areobic volume.

However, there is no getting around the fact that pool running is not "weight bearing". So, if I am to race effectively, I need to get in a certain amount of "actual running" milage, no matter how much cross training I am getting.
