Hello, Your biggest issue is that the marathon itself is not run on a treadmill; as Rod Dixon said after winning the 1983 New York Marathon, you must train to overcome those obsticals so you can tolerate them in the race. Learn to "run through" the problem with your quads...I guarantee that you will be a better runner for it. If you can do only 2 or 3 miles, then that's what you do until your comfortable with it. Then, kick it up to 4 or 5 and so on. Love, Bambi
