Evan, My advice may not be the best, I have only run two marathons, but I finished both. I am not competitive and my goal the first time was to finish. If that is your goal then great. If you have a good base (more then 9 months of running) A training program that includes some hill work, some distances and a little speed work. You should be fine. Besides the training, you should have a good race day plan. Walk through the water stops and drink plenty of water and your chances of finishing will improve.
