My training

I did a combination of speed workouts and long slow distance. I averaged about 30 miles a week and peeked at 40. I might have under trained. In my first one I over trained and was injured so I might have been playing it too safe to avoid coming to the starting line limping. I was living in Colorado and the course I usually ran had a few hills. I did do a 23 mile run about six weeks before the race and had a little trouble the last two miles. The strange thing is after the race was over I felt great.
