Marc, given your natural abilities, you'll probably do very well once you get back into it. I think that there is a good running club in your area, and a set training program for the Indy 'thon; check out the marathon's website (which you can get to from this site's "US Races" feature under "Marathon Directory".
The race I talke about was last year and I made 3:38 (therefore I met my goal). In high school (1973-1977), I was an offensive tackle and a lousy shot-putter, who could barely break 6 min for a mile. I restarted running back in 1996.
Anyway, I might try this race again, but have little doubt that you'll be munching on your post-marathon lunch by the time I finish!
