I've signed up for the Fargo Marathon this year on Saturday May 18th. My question is: if I choose to fly into Fargo can I truly get through the weekend without a rental car? I see the airport is a walkable (3.1 miles) distance to the NDSU campus housing and race start but can I walk anywhere to get pretzels, gatorade, food etc. Are the necessities near enough to get to w/o a rental car until leaving Sunday AM? The other option: It looks like I can fly to Minneapolis for $100 less and drive 500 miles (RT) but I wind up paying $100 or more for the car and gas, so it's a wash. Any advice on this and the housing etc from a past participant would be very appreciated. Thanks!
