It happens to all of of us at different times. My time is mid January in the middle of a Minnesota winter. During the week we always run in the dark and cold. It's dark for morning runs and dark after work. The cold is not so bad if it doesn't bite. Coupled with icy paths this, too, can wear on a guy. I'm a 3:45 marathoner. Not too slow, not too fast. Before I go out, I kick and scream like a toddler. But when I'm heading out the door, I think of myself as a hard-ass warrior. I think of the nobility in doing it the hard way. When I'm done I beat my chest and congratulate myself for my small victory. Good luck.
