Yes you do get the hill in Iroquois Park but it's early enough in the race to handle. My memories of the race were this: When you enter Churchill Downs the road (just a path in there) gets thin so you need to be at the pace where you want to be for that stretch, not much chance to move up. The park isn't that bad if you've trained for hills. The worst, and I mean the WORST is when you join the half marathon walkers from 18 to almost 21. When I ran it they owned the road running 5 abreast. Nightmare. Maybe they've fixed that. There is a real hill I'd say about 22 to 23. Go ahead and give most of what you have left there because once you crest it, you get a free ride to the finish. Nice lean forward downhill to the end. I have not run the Nashville race.
