Have not run Chicago, but have done Milw. 6 yrs. ago. Race has appx. 1000 runners plus relayers. Course is point-to-point and overall downhill and the few small uphills are early. Start is at a high school, so you have shelter. A few scattered spectators. Not a bad choice if you don't mind fewer spectators and festivities. Spectators can access course and follow it along in some places. Check out / search web race's web site for more info.
