The way I look at we got shafted as Consumers. In all the marathons baggage check in a part of the Service that is provide and hence the entry fee. This has been the case in all the marathons including New York. NY folks blatantly charged with increase to $255.00 and then did not deliver the product. In other words they cheated the consumers. Had they told the consumers before demanding $255.00, I am sure there would have been a different outcome. But they collected the money, which is non-refundable and then made the lousy announcement. This is bad and deceiving business pratice. We should demand that they refund to each runner/consumer some of the amount (about $75.00) for the service not provided or the product not delivered. They have to understand that we are Paying Customers and all laws of consumerism apply here. Please write as many letters to this corupt and greedy business and business people with their deceiving practices.
