So the next question dear friends: why is it necessary for marathons to open registration 8 mos. prior to race day when they now sell out in less than a week? Something needs to change. If this is the way it's going to be, then create a legitimate bib transfer option for runners who get injured, sick, et al. Last year approx. 8,000 registered runners failed to show in Chicago, while legions of hopefuls were left out.
