Cheilectomy surgery - recovery

I am a 54 yr old runner. I've run 7 marathons in the last 7 years. On 11/29/11 I had Cheilectomy surgery to repair a bone spur on my right foot. Just wondering if anyone out there has had this surgery and if so, what was your recovery like? I would like to run NY this Fall 2012. Is that realistic? I am now at 5 wks post surgery and don't think I will be able to run at all for at least another few weeks. Any advice at all would be appreciated - Thanks, Steve
