$500,000 a year to the CEO of the NYRC? The United States has become a very foolish place with the overemphasis on sports and movie stars and anything having to do with rat cages like New York City. Millions of dollars a year to "professional" athletes and "movie stars" and fancy dan CEOs .... while the farmers out in the hinterland work much harder and struggle to produce the food to feed these urbanites. I often wonder if a sense of reality might be re-instilled in all of these fancy dans if we shut the food supply off. All of the glamour and glitter would not amount to a hill of beans when they no longer put food in their bellies. And, there would be no fancy NYC Marathon if the common amateur did not show up .... leave the silly race to the 200 or so elites to run, and the price would fall quickly.
