Believe me, Zeke, I've been beating myself up over this since Sat. I couldn't sleep last night. I know it's crazy - everyone says there will be more races and there will be. But this was supposed to be my race and somehow I blew it. Thought my training went well. I've had a PR in every race distance since the beginning of 2011. Raced a 30K with a 9:15 pace. Started out at a 9:30 pace and did sub-9 miles for the last 5 miles. I just didn't feel the energy at all at Hartford - didn't have it from the get-go. Maintained a 9:15 for at least half of the race. Really felt like crap by mile 17. Toughed it out for at least 10 miles of the race, wanting to quit several times. Hartford gives out really nice medals though. :) Anyway, I want to run Harrisburg, PA on Nov. 13th. Can't I chalk Hartford up to a bad training run? I didn't run it any faster than my training runs. What do you think?
