Living here in the high desert of Utah, where it almost never rains, I don't run in the rain. When it rains, I rest. Or sometimes run on my treadmill. In 20 years of running, I've logged more miles running in the rain in one visit to Chicago, where I did an 18-mile training run in a downpour, than my total miles in the rain in Utah. (Okay, that's an overstatement, because I did run one marathon in a light drizzle.)
The point is, I'm not really prepared for rain running. I'm just hoping it's good weather for my marathon in 3 weeks.
Good luck to you Boston runners! I envy you. I'll join you in 2003!
