It seems that more and more runners are beginning to figure out that the Rock 'n Roll Marathons are merely a commercially-driven enterprise, not a responsible road race series. Looking at calendar year 2010, here is the associated registration drop from 2009:
RnR Arizona = down 11% RnR Las Vegas = down 12% RnR San Antonio = down 22% RnR Seattle = down 27%
And the decline continues in 2011: RnR San Diego was down 22% this June from '10. RnR Seattle dropped further this year, 15% from '10.
