Yes, that is crazy. I was looking at the local racing calendar here in NYC and Rock n Roll is sponsoring a Brooklyn 10k in Prospect Park this fall. $60!!! Unreal. Who would pay that for a 10k? I can run in that park for free. I don't know the details, but I must assume there are minimal costs for putting on a race within a park - permits, some police, etc. Lots of profits I suppose?!
