I have played b-ball for 49 years. I still can beat slow college and Highschool players up and down the court, well at lease in my dreams!!!! So I decided to try distance running. Then I had a silly thought, I want to run a marathon? But first I want to finish a marathon. Then evalurate my bodies ability to increase my time in my second Marathon? My longest run on the weekend is 10-14 miles, then the bottom of my feet cramp. I load my self with water days before I run, but still my feet cramp. Could it be poor cirulation? Any experienced marathon runners have any advice? Also I would like to know what brand and style of shoes do most marathoners wear(My size 9)? Also is there any marathon nylons that keep you warm, after I start sweating I get cold. I live in Fort Wayne, Ind. and I was going to ask if there is a good marathon for first time marathoners close to me? I was going to entry in the South Bend Marathon,6-8-02 is this a good race for somebody that is slow? Also, I would like to train with any first time marathoners, please feel free to contact me. Iam a single male nonsmoker, nondrinker that teaches students that drugs kills brain cells, enough said. I also practice abstinence, and will wait for love and marriage. If you are a lady that can run or ride a bike while we try to increase our mileage for a marathon, drop me a line. Only serious people and responses will be read. Make it a GREAT DAY, Cecil.
