dehydration, low potassium, lack of quality sleep, lack of quality protein, lack of trace minerals... all of these might be contributing to lingering issues. I think the one of the biggest problems young/new runners have is realizing REST is part of training... one summer I had a lingering calf strain till I started hydrating and eating apricots (I hate bananas which are high in potassium). As you are young I would think that you are not sleeping enough (for a recovering runner) and as it is summer I'd say hydartion & minerals... fresh fruits help...
some of my friends 'swear by' watching at least a half hour of TV with their fet elevated over their head (lay on the floor and putting their feet on the ottoman or couch)...good luck... as I thnkk I've said, a few days off early in the recovery period is better than weeks later on, difficult to do but pays off... good luck
