Potential record breakers and their agents have been quite familiar with IAAF's criteria since it was instituted in 2004. in addition, potential record breakers recognize that London, Chicago, Berlin, Frankfurt, and Rotterdam are faster courses. The last men's World Best posted in Boston occurred 64 years ago, and that fact alone is why we'll never see Haile Gebrselassie on the Hopkinton start line.
