Zeke and Sunbeam, I always appreciate what you guys have to say and usually agree but not this time.

The net elevation loss is an important disqualifier for records. This prevents manipulation of courses. Granted Boston is tough and has hills. However, what if a course was designed with less elevation loss than Boston but with no uphills? Couldn't they argue for a record even though the course would be set up for speed? I think that the mark from Patriot's Day should be World's Best, not World Record.
