I ran NJ in 2006 & 2007. It was a nice race and ran concurrently with the half-marathon. It was a 2 loop course at that time and mostly flat. I am planning on running it this year (I live in NYC and it is geographically desirable for me) and they changed the course to be a 1 loop course and to hit more of the beach towns. I think it will be better and it will be run separate from the half-marathon which is great as I have heard it had gotten pretty congested in recent years. The marathon will be at 8am and the half will be at 8:30am. I did not have a problem with parking in 06 and 07, but I read comments from recent years where parking was tough. I guess you just have to get there early. I had stayed at a hotel about 10 minutes away, but this year I was lucky enough to get a room at the host hotel right at the start for 1 night. I think also they do shuttle buses from a central location close by so people don't have to look for parking near the start. The race director is excellent and I have emailed them and have gotten timely, friendly and informative responsed. In 2010 the weather was in the 80s, but I guess there is nothing you can do about that being that May 1 can be any time of weather. Very nice techincal shirts too. I hope this helps.
