Registration opens Feb.1st and there will be a mad dash to sign up—all 45,000 slots went very quickly last year—about 6-7 weeks. PLEASE sign up to run it—not just to secure a spot. If you're on the fence, let someone else who really wants to run Chicago have the chance. Many of the no-shows are not training/injury/last-minute family or business issues—they're from people who signed up just to avoid being shut out. Granted, you've committed your entry fee but that is short-sighted. Selling out popular races has become more self- fulfilling—we want it more when we can't have it and know it will sell out. Joining the great mass of Chicago runners is a real treat—let those who really want to be there have that chance.
