I don't have an answer to your question, but I was intrigued by the idea that you're writing a novel. I'm interested because, one of my hobbies (and, as it turns out, a very lucrative hobby) is freelance writing. I have written (most with my wife as co-author) about 35 books on computers. I have also written about 200 magazine articles, again mostly on computers. My current focus is textbooks on Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. I also teach a technical writing course for chemistry students. But I am interested in writing a novel.
Have you written other novels? Published any? Done other kinds of freelance writing?
On another forum in which I participate, most of the participants are someway involved in writing. We have discussed the similarities between running and writing.
