after some marathons I am famished, for days and ate everything in sight... the last few I haven't been as hungry and concentrated on eating small quantities of good quality foods... I just wasn't hungry but I made sure to add a few snacks of nuts & fresh veggies, not a lot of excess calories. And plenty of water.
What is weird is the 'one thing' that I NEED right after a race, usually it's chips or pretzels (for the salt, makes sense) But sometimes it's a desire for a milkshake or ice cream (calories)... race day is the one time I really indulge myself. Be good to yourself, you earned it! -Rita
