Hello all,

My 3rd marathon is scheduled for this Sunday and I'm going back and forth on what my ultimate goal time should be. Can you advise me as to what you'd recommend? Here's my background: 1st marathon trained 14 weeks using HH novice - and hit wall at mile 19 - struggled in to finish 4:04. 2nd Marathon I used HH intermediate 1 - and focused more on fluid intake and nutrition (although dropped salt tablets at mile 13 and didn't have enough GU) and hit wall at mile 21 - finished at 3:48. This training I ran through the winter and completed the entire 18 week program following HH Intermediate 2 - including speed work (3:15 yassos) and pace runs every week at 7:55/Mile. I feel better trained and prepared for this one - so much so that I am thinking about increasing my goal to qualify for Boston - which would need a 3:20 time. since I ran my pace runs planning on a 3:30 time I don't know if I can maintain the 7:40 pace needed for a 3:20. Considering I bonked during my last 2 I really don't want to have that happen again - but BQ would be amazing if in fact my improved training will allow me to do it. What do think - is the risk of hitting the wall too likely for me to go for it? Does it seem like my training was sufficient to go for such a leap? Thanks, I am going crazy...
