Hydration: water vs sport drink

I am running my event 10/17, and have my final long run (22 mi) Sat. I drank some gatorade for my 18 miler, just water for my 20 miler...it's hard for me to carry both becuase I use a camelbak. I am wondering about the risk I take if I don't drink Gatorade on my event day. I am afraid the sugar upsets my stomach but don't want to bonk - I plan to use GU - is that enough or do I just risk it and use the Gatorade? When in the event do I start drinking the Gatorade - at first stop or is waiting until about mile 16 ok?
