Gatoraide and the other commercialized "sports drinks" are nothing but junk sugar water. A teaspoon or so of salt to 8 ounces of water works just as well if not better. Drink about 8 ounces of this salt water about 1 hour before a running event, and if you are carrying your own water make it this salt water. Works very well to keep you hydrated.
It's interesting how the sugar water companies like Gatoraid have sucked people into buying and using this expensive junk.
