I ran both races within 6 months from each other. I had a harder time running NY, but I think it was because of the extreame cold, more than the course. The year I ran in was close to freezing at the start. They are both tough but for different reasons. It is difficult, in the Boston marathon, to take advantage of the downhills after heart break hill. Specific training needs to be focused on that portion of the race.
