I am a relative novice like you, but I've been following Higdon intermediate II - but adding speed work and pace runs.
Doesn't he suggest running 45 - 90 seconds/mile slower than MP?
I wonder if that will equate to you running sub 8Min in the marathon? I sort of have the same question.
I've been doing pace runs at 7:55. But, I really don't know if I can maintain for 26 miles.
