you are not crazy, but be reasonable. I ran my first 2 years ago at 53, wanting to just finish. Started at a similar point you are at with an 8 month plan that turn into 28 for life reasons. I agree with most of what has been offered, but would start with a good physical. Then get a good first time training program, i use Hal Higdon's, be realistic, set appropriate goals, and remember you are not 20 any more. Enjoy the experience. Running my 4th in 5 weeks.
