As always, Zeke is probably dead on. My personal observations are these. I live in Mississippi and have been dealing with heat indexes up to 120 degrees for the past 6 weeks. I feel that it adds about 20 seconds per mile on long training runs. Shorter runs I think it adds about 10 seconds. I am a 3:30 marathoner, which I give to provide a reference. I also tend to use the summer as my lightest mileage weeks30 miles). The heavy training of winter is difficult when I lose 5 pounds on every long run. I love when fall begins because I feel instantly faster.
