unless you're Steve Prefontaine, you need to discipline yourself to rest and recover. If you are on a recovery run, it needs to be easy—it doesn't matter if you feel great and want to run hard. That's a positive thing (being hungry to run hard) and will pay off on race day. Consider hiring a coach to work out a schedule, sometimes we listen better to someone we've paid.
