This may be late, but I'll share it anyway. By all accounts, your 5k and 10k times project to a sub-3 marathon performance. But if you already have 11 marathons under your belt, dropping from 3:10 to sub-3 requires a new element in your training. So what's the needed element? From personal experience, it's not found in more weekly mileage or speed sessions. Add a truly LONG run into your training: 28-30 miles. Discount this advice if you wish, but I once did a 34 miler VERY slowly one month before Boston and set a 10-minute PR on a humid day. (2:40 from 2:50) Just one overdistance outing 4 weeks before your race will give you the iron to fly across the line under 3 hours. FYI: New Zealand's marathon veteran Derek Turnbull is an overdistance advocate, and he was running sub-3 hour races well into his 60s.
